Ribat Atlas hosted its second retreat in Morocco entitled Ribatona 2024, which was held from the 12th to the 18th of May 2024.
Guests joined this 7-day journey across the blessed country of Morocco.
The program started in Ifrane where our scholars and professionals delivered several talks related to building sustainable communities, before heading to the spiritual capital of Morocco (Fes).
In Fes, we visited the main spiritual and cultural sites of this ancient city. The highlight of the program will be the visit to the blessed maqam of Moulay Abdessalam Ibn Masheesh (Sheikh of Sidi Abu Al-Hassan Al-Shadili). Our program concluded in the blue city of Chefchaouen.
Below is an overview of the program component as well as a brochure of the retreat.
The retreat seamlessly blended the richness of Moroccan culture with spiritual and touristic exploration.
Our guests engaged in academic classes on marriage, family, and community counseling, and reflected on spiritual insights through group discussions.
Evenings featured cultural performances and traditional Moroccan dinners. A guided tour of Fes's ancient Medina and historic landmarks, along with visits to spiritual sites, immersed the participants into the Moroccan culture.
Spiritual gatherings, free time to explore vibrant souks, and interactive sessions with locals added to the enjoyment of Ribatona guests.
The retreat concluded with a group dinner celebrating newfound friendships, with everyone returning with impactful memories and a renewed sense of purpose.
The first day of the kids' program focused on community engagement and creativity. Children, alongside villager’s kids, refurbished the communal kids' space in the village.
This initiative aimed at creating a vibrant and inspiring environment for learning and play. Together, they painted murals, set up educational corners, and added board games. The project not only enhanced the aesthetics of the space but also instilled a sense of ownership and pride among the children. Through teamwork and creativity, the community came together to provide a nurturing setting for the younger generation.
The second day delves into cultural and spiritual enrichment. Children participated in a workshop where they learnt ancient Quran memorization techniques. This session not only imparted valuable knowledge but also fostered a deep connection with cultural heritage.
